Welcome!!!

If you stumbled among this site, "Evelyn’s Twigs, Thyme and Stranger Things Gardens" is a collection of journal entries that I have kept on my computer for years, and have now decided to post. The journal contains my successes and failures with my favorite selections of plants. I'm talking about more than 50 years of caring for and living with green things. Not everything is here. More of it is learned and store in my head. However, here I will share facts about each plants, my research, as well as my personal and gathered tips on their care. I was not planning to post my houseplant and backyard journals online, so editing them for errors was not a priority to me. This being the case, perhaps, one day I will correct all the spelling and grammar errors in both of them. We would not want people to think I did not know better, when I was only being lazy. Again, no apologizes. It is what it is for now.

Transplanted the Royal Chantenay Carrots

 Hello, Darlings

Today was another Pal Choi harvesting day. From the pictures below, you can see that they are growing well. I am amazed at how large the leaves get when left to grow large. I also cut off the flower stems to help the Pal Choi to continue to grow. Although not shown, I also cutaway the leaves that were crowded and died, as well as trimmed away the dry dead leaves on the store bought scallions that I brought back in June.  Yes, they are still alive and growing well.

I am watchful of the blight that infested the green beans and I still stray all the plants in the sunroom and in the house weekly.

Today was also the day that I transplanted the Royal Chantenay carrots into the second min half barrel. For me this is another great experiment where I can watch and chart the carrots as well as the Korean Radishes grow indoors.

All of the hydroponic plants were watered and fed, which marks the start of my weekly feeding of them.

Well this is all for now.

Until next time,

   Keep on Growing!!!
