05/03/2024 – On November 28, 2020, I bought a couple of Chicago Edible Figs trees and in December 2022, after being vandalized I propagated my last remaining fig tree when the second one did not survive the attack. Nevertheless, I was able to save two portions and rooted them. It has been nearly 18 months since then, and the two cuttings have grown enough that earlier this year I planted them in a medium size half barrel. There they have grown more and strengthen to look great. However, because I want them to fruit, I added three ‘Jobes Fruit and Citrus’ stakes to the barrel. Previously, I was fed them with regularly Miracle Gro water solution and some all purpose pelletized food. Now they are mature enough to prepare for fruiting, which given the time of the year may occur next year.
